Bewitchingly dreamy and glowing with fuzz, veronicavon is the brainchild of songwriters Xuan Nguyen (Xuan) and Chris Hackman (Human Barbie), who joined forces in 2020 with a (secret) plan to stay sane and explore uncharted horizons in lo-fi pop. Grainy synths, cassette-drenched drums, and warbling guitars swirl through their white-hot jams, while Nguyen’s enchanting vocals conjure a wistful, playful, and instantly addictive dreamscape...

What inspires your music?
We're inspired by all the little moments... cold beer on a hot summer night. The little hairs that stand up on the back of your neck. Fried chicken.
Who are some of your influences?
Just the big ones: Neil Young, Boy Scouts, Metronomy, and Andy Shauf

What are some of your favorite memories from your career?
Once we brought some canned margaritas to a tiny house show, and drank them wayy too fast after we played... It was good fun, but then we realized we accidentally got drunk, and everything gets pretty blurry after that point... We wore Ikea bucket hats.
Which of your projects is your favorite?
Good Girl!!!!! It's the best mix of a welcoming vibe and sad lyrics - so we invite you in and then serve a hot platter of tears.

Who are some of the collaborators who helped you create your best works?
We're self-produced and recorded, but we loved working with Indigo Null on our epic press shots!! @exilehousecreative • Also Troy Lustick, who directed the music video for 'Good Girl'! Him and his team absolutely CRUSHED it, making all of our in-camera zoom dreams come true. @camcordercologne
What are you most excited to bring to your fans next?
We're working hard on a full-length album of softcore tearjerkers.

What are your goals for this upcoming year?
Once we finish production on our new LP, we're gonna go on a booking rampage - hopefully we'll come to a city near you!! (also lawyers, guns, and money)
