Bravery can be witnessed in many everyday acts. Although rarely recognized, bravery can be seen in the acceptance of yourself, when you don’t see yourself as part of the norm. It can be the act of leaving the life you know, for the dream you’ve had. It can even be revealing your story for the world to see, displaying both the beauty on the surface and the ugliness in the details. LEEANNA, a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, courageously lays out her story as a bare truth. With her entrancing, soulful voice and intimate sense of personalism, LEEANNA invites her listeners to share, love, and empathize with one another.

LEEANNA, a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, uses a hypnotic, soulful voice and calm vulnerability to invite her listeners to love, heal, and empathize with one another. Lee Anna Woodcock was born in McComb, Mississippi, a small town known for its musical exports and New Orleans influence and grew up singing in gospel and show choirs around the US. She left Mississippi for New York City during college to work at MTV and later at Simon & Schuster until a film project called her to the west coast in 2018.

LEEANNA seized the opportunity and moved to LA to finally chase her dreams. She has since spent her time developing her lushly feminine sound and writing for various artists and tv and film projects, while performing at venues such as The Mint, Peppermint Club, Tenants of the Trees, Sayers, and Madame Siam.

LEEANNA made her debut release, the Live Session single “Gentle Now,” in May of 2020 and her radio debut of “Not Your Baby” as KIIS FM’s Opening Act for the 2020 iHeart Radio Music Festival in September. Her music is currently exploring themes of gender, femininity, social injustice, and inequality. As an intersex woman who doesn’t fit neatly into the biological definition of female, LEEANNA has searched deeply to find her own identity outside of societal expectations and will be releasing music reflecting that experience throughout 2020 and beyond.
